Biography

Mohammed Animashaun is the talented 22 years male vocalist known as MoeLogo, who is fast becoming a household name and infamous within the music industry. Born in Lagos Nigeria, he moved to the United Kingdom in 2001. At the age of 14 he became member of the school choir where he improved his vocals range and gained more knowledge about music. He recollects: “Singing for fun and imitating other musicians such R Kelly and Usher became part of my daily routine as I fell and grew in love with music”.

 

He gained notoriety during a performance in Gambia with Jamaican reggae artist Busy Signal. Performing to a crowd of 60,000 people, he commented: “The love and support I received from the trip was priceless. Since then my passion for music has grown. I am 150% MUSIC”. 

 

On the 27th of August 2012, he became part of an historic moment when he performed at the Africa Unlugged Festival held in Wembley Arena. He shared the stage with the likes of Femi Kuti, 2face Idibia, Sakordie, Zahara, Iyanya and more. His performance and stage presence was heart felt by many of the festival patrons. 

 

In July 2012 MoeLogo performed at the Nigeria House Concert along side Ice Prince, M.I and Jesse Jags to name a few. He wowed the crowd with his smooth vocals and eclectic mix of Afrobeats and Jazz-fusion.

 

MoeLogo features on the single Champagne Life by UK duo Dem Two which will be officially released on September 24th. The early stages of his career saw his love and passion for music grow. His credentials rose among his peers through collaborations with the best UK hip hop artists such as Gunna Dee, Joe Grind, Fix Dot’m and super group the Marvel Boys. In a joint collaboration MoeLogo composed a mix tape with OMZ and Murdock entitled ‘Sextalk’, he recalls:  “This really helped me gain recognition of my capabilities from other artists around me”

 

Following his passion and desire, MoeLogo gained even more exposure through Starlight Music Academy, he worked with influential chart topping artists like Chipmunk, Kano, Isiah, Blemish BlackStorm (JOAT), and Black Rob to name a few. 

 

In 2011 Moelogo got the opportunity to broaden his musical knowledge and travelled to New York where he spent six months. He discovered another side to his talent while at a studio session in New York. While there he came up with the idea to write lyrics from his native tongue, Yoruba. The fact that he could speak and write in his native language as well as in English inspired him to create his first Afrobeats track called ‘She’s my Indomie’ a remix of Davido and Naeto C’s ‘Back When’

 

Currently, he works closely with the talented producer Bayoz Muzik. Future projects will see the two collaborate on a fusion of Afrobeats, RnB & Pop to create a unique musical concept.
